  2. Paul Bagguley Says:

    Awefull

  3. I would really like to know who designed that hideous logo personally i think i can personally design something much better, its sooo disgusting even a school child can design better. it looked like someone was drunk when designing it. ewwwwww

  4. Carolyn Davidson Says:

    Incoherent rubbish

  5. It reminds me of the Never Mind The Bollocks Logo.

Wolff Olin, cackling: “THANK YOU FOR THE MONEY!”

  6. Spud Yates Says:

I’m quite sure that Tracy Emin could have done better by using bed fluff and condoms.
With the extra benefit that the Saatchi pillock would buy the original for a few million quid.

  7. Simon Jones Says:

Get rid of it soon – Please

  8. pamela pearce Says:

This committee knows nothing about advertising, subsequently they were sold a load of rubbish, by con men. Its a modern day version of “The Emperors’s New Clothes” It should be scrapped now. If this abomination is the shape of things to come for the 2012 Olympics, God help us. Pam Pearce 6th June 2007

  9. this logo is a disgrace and if it is not changed not only will we be a laughing stock people will not be able to watch the games for fear of getting nauseous with all the gaudy flashing colours

  10. Barry Jones Says:

Invite schools all around the UK to submit ideas and whichever school is chosen receives £100K. Firstly, the logo WOULD be better and secondly, the money would not line the pockets of some money grabbing graphic designer/ marketing type people.
    It’s just disgraceful !

  11. is any1 else havin problems conecting to the online petition to change the logo??

  12. It is 100% crap. A 6month old could probably do a job twice as better as this. Its a joke. I take it they dont want our country to look like we take things seriously.

  13. I think this is a terrible reflection of British heritage and culture. I think we should scrap the design and the designer’s lives.

  14. Nelson Mandela Says:

i hate the design in addition to humanity. The sooner i eradicate life on this planet the better. I cant wait to skin all my family and eat them.

  15. Disgusting, looks like a technicolour vomit.
Find a proper person to do a descent job. Sory I wa too late to sign the petition

  16. I think the logo should be banned because its very rude.

  17. Barry Spencer Says:

Disgusting is an understatement. I had no wish to host these games in the first place but the money spent on this idiotic design is obscene. It makes you wonder just how much is being paid to Seb and company for their ‘input’. This is money not well spent. Claim it back and scrap the logo. Scrap the games. They will only benefit the vendors and various committee members. These games should be for the benefit of the people and not over paid political stuffed shirts.

  18. fiona stafford Says:

looks like a broken swastika. Edgy my backside – knocked up in minimum speed for the maximum profit.

  19. its a disgrace to the whole world it looks like a pile of crap!

  20. John Chapman Says:

No wonder the cost of the Olympic games is spiraling out of control… £400,000 for the logo ?. How many more politicians, celebrities and city types will benefit from grossly overinflated payouts. It’s an incredible waste of taxpayer / Lottery funding. See today’s Daily Mail for superior designs (Put together in less than 24hours and at very little cost) lets choose one of these instead !!!!!!!

  21. Ben McMullen Says:

It’s hideous. It was fascinating watching Sebastian Coe trying to justify it.

  22. Steve Thompson Says:

The logo is appalling. It epitomises today’s mindset where many people seem to have the attention span of a 3-year-old. It has the annoyance of a pop-up ad on a website. Also what’s the point of a moving image where the logo will mainly be used on a static enironment? Look at Beijing 2008’s logo for a better example.

  23. If you have anyone with epilepsy in your family then you should sign the petition. It sent my daughter into a seizure, what idiot thought it was a good idea, sorry didn’t they think first!

  24. Until it was pointed out to me, I couldn’t even tell that it was supposed to be “2012″ on the logo, it just looked like a load of childish graffiti. What on earth does this say to the world about the talent (or rather the lack of it) in our country? How can they justify £400,000 for this rubbish, it only costs a couple of quid for a decent pack of coloured pencils!

  25. Julian Brown Says:

A truly awful logo designed, obviously, by a committee.

Why not make it a competition for the public to come up with ideas? Have a prize of, say, £10,000, the money to go either to a school or a charity of choice.

  26. Cecelia Stevenson Says:

Oh dear, all the wealth of talent and diversity of the UK and thats what we have representing us, hohum…

  27. Sue Eagles Says:

Unfortunately, the link above to the petition is wrong, you need to go to http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/change-the-london-2012-logo-extended-campaign.html
The original petition did close at around 48000 signatures but due to ‘popular demand,’ Gopetion.com started it again. Unfortunately not enough people realise this. So if you hate that ghastly logo, sign the petition now! and tell everyone you speak to who doesn’t like it either (and that must be 99.9999% of the population) to do the same.
Thanks and say NO to the 2012 Logo!
